Bloggers Quilt Festival....Emerged

AmysCreativeSide.com

Every year, Amy at Amy's Creative Side hosts a Bloggers' Quilt Festival.  This year, I finally got my act together and am entering two.  I picked two of my most recent finishes.  While I'm super proud of my Heal Circle quilt, it was collaborative, and I wasn't sure where to enter it.

So, instead, I picked a throw quilt sized quilt from my Angled Class with Rachel over at Stitched in Color.  She does amazing online classes, and I always learn buckets from her!

This one is Emerged.

Emerge quilt

I have attempted a Lone Star before, but it was itty bitty (and still unfinished) and used interfacing to make it easier.  Maybe because the diamonds were biggerI had no problems with this one.  The biggest challenge was applique-ing it on to the background.  Much blood was spilled.
I used some of my precious hoarded Nummer for this one.  (Still sad it seems to be discontinued.)

I did a simple echo quilt on this background.  I wanted to keep it soft and floppy rather than doing intense quilting.  This is going to be one of my go to hang out quilts for the winter.  I'm not usually a pink girl, but these make me happy.  I used simple black binding for the edging.

If you are visiting for the first time, I hope you'll come back and visit again. If you are a regular, thank you for taking the time to keep reading!

Love this! Your colors against the black and white background are perfect!

Part of the reason you had an easier time might be that the pieces were bigger. Give yourself some credit, too! As you make more quilts you become more skilled.

I love it! I think Lone Star quilts are so beautiful and this design is just gorgeous, as are your fabric choices.
