WIP Wed 11.9.11

I'm plugging away on bee blocks.
Or at least I was.
Right now I'm just tired.
A lotta dancing.
Not enough sleep.
I'm not handling the time shift well. I think I need to reup my vitamin D intake.

Here's the blocks that are completed:
Nubees, Hive #1, Nov for nybird
Nubees, Hive #1, Nov for Safiya
4x5 hive #9 for The Busy Bean
3x6, HIve #9, Q4, for scrapstudio

This one has to be redone...I fluffed a seam.
Nubee Hive #1, Nov for Five Baht Elephant

Here's the stack of undone bits. My goal is to get them sewn up by Sat and prep my Dead Simple to quilt.
blocks in progress!
I think I have around 15 total to do. I'm waiting for some black fabric and some oomph. Maybe Fri. Tomorrow will be more dancing and a date with the dentist to get my tooth looked at. I'm praying it's an easy fix. I hate getting my teeth messed with....

To Do:
Last week's skill builder block
New Bee block for Nov.
3x6 blocks for hive #9
4x5 blocks
Dead Simple (to sammich and quilt)
Swap charms to cut (not for the black, white & grey swap)
Swap charms to sort
Nubees Nov blocks
Monkey quilt (waiting to be assembled)
Mom's quilt....still looking for a long arm quilter....

WIP Wed 10.5.11...

I got some stuff done today.
Not as much as I planned because a meeting ran late.
I had to get zippers for my pouch for the Pretty Little Pouch swap.
Totally terrified of zippers.
*eep*
I got three blocks done for the Nubees:
Nubee, Oct Hive #1

I got most of the machine sewing of the binding for the 100 quilts done. Unfortunately, my bobbin went wonky and I have a row to rip out and redo.
I'll post pics of it when it's fixed.

So, on tap for tomorrow:
Finish Nubee blocks
Fix 100 quilts quilt binding
prototype for pouch
Sew Bee It blocks

slightly on hold:
monkey quilt
New Bee wonky star
picking block/cutting fabric for my bee month
Hoopla

What I REALLY need to do:
get my swap idea up and running ASAP

WIP Wed 8.17.11

it's been small things.
I joined the Across the Sea QAL.
I think I'm doing it twice. (I have a bunch of friends having babies.)
Version #1 will use:
Option #1

Version #2 will use this:

or this (though the orange may come from 1001 rather than be a solid):
Option #2 with Orange.

I'm still working on my Make Mine Modern stuff....haven't gotten very far.
I'm seriously worn out from painting and moving furniture at school...plus trying to shift my sleeping pattern back to school mode isn't working so well. Blarg.

Dogs and cats, living together....(WIP Wed)

I caught her trying to play with him yesterday:
IMG_9771
He was too tired to be interested so she tortured him by repeatedly licking his foot (which he HATES).

I've put my original For the Love of Solids swap idea on hold. I'm playing with something else:
playing with an idea

We'll see how it plays out.

I still need to cut a bunch of charms up and send them out.

What are y'all up to? I'm linking up with Lee at Freshly Pieced.

Works in Progress 8.3.11

I haven't done any sewing today. I painted part of my classroom.
I'm "organizing". Really, I'm trying not to freak out while waiting for the electrician.
I'm nervous about what he might tell me. We're starting to wonder if either everything in the house was miswired or a local lightning strike caused some kind of damage.

So, I took pictures:

My finished big item for my Make Mine Modern swap partner. (I don't think she reads my blog, so I think it's ok to post here.)

3x6 blocks for half of the hive (I did a 4th but made a boo boo and have to seam rip):
3x6 blocks

Here's my in progress Skill Builder (caught up as of right now):

Kona I pulled for my Modern Block of the Month:
stash for Modern Block Quilt

I still need to start my Love of Solids swap item....
And put borders on mom's quilt.
I'm going to be home most of the day either waiting for the dog or watching the dog post tooth pulling....I'm going to sew a lot tomorrow.

Also, because I refuse to take myself too seriously...someone asked about how you organize your projects. Here's my method:

I've cut up all my charm squares (all 112) of them for the Rainbow Swap.

I started cutting up all the bits I can for my bee block mailing. As soon as the rest of the fabric comes, I'll finish cutting an mail out the blocks (at least the international ones).
Super excited! There should be a tutorial coming on that as well.

Rockin Robin, Row 3
Rocking Robin, Row 3, pressed
Fabric assembled for round robin quilt with quilting pal

*start mom's quilt (I got the supplies)
*Assemble top for Pirate's family's quilt
*finish my big item for the Make Mine Modern swap (in progress)
*Finish my small item
